Dear Reader, Apologize for missing last week’s post. School has started and as it turns out, it’s quite chaotic. We missed a whole year of in-person school, so going back to getting the kids out the door on time was giving me so much anxiety. To the point that I hit and broke my pinky toe to the bed frame when I was rushing around the apartment. And every parent will know this - little kids back in school means catching germs and getting sick. My littlest one caught a cold after a week in school and I wasn’t able to do my own thing. Happy to report that she’s all better and my toe is recovering.
Bonnie, thank you for the spoon pictures and story. I relate so much about wanting one thing, project, decision to lead me to the masterpiece. But seeing your process, even your impatience, is a great reminder that the way of getting there is the space that we call “living”.
p.s. I took a foraging class and met some great people! The interesting thing I learned about myself though is, perhaps I don’t want to only make new friends. But I also want to share my new self with the friends who have been in my life for a long time and invite them on this part of the journey with me :)
this bit is truly powerful and the metaphor is perfect... for you and for everybody. we're all works in progress and forever will be til we are no longer of this earth. if we could all have this perspective and accept a work in progress requires patience, perseverance & dedication, i think we would all be more comfortable w/life in general, for ourselves and for everybody else.
love your writing & truly enjoy your insightful and raw gems of this life journey... :)
